On the Cover: Looking out at the Mound City Group, one of five sites within the Hopewell Culture National Historic Park in Chillicothe, Ohio. Once part of Camp Sherman, a World War I training facility, the site was excavated after the war and designated Mound City National Monument in 1923. It became Hopewell Culture National Historical Park in 1992 and was expanded to include the Hopewell Site, Seip Earthworks, Hopeton Earthworks, and the High Bank Works. The park features walking trails and an artifact-filled museum.
