Volume 51, Number 3, July 2004
On the Cover: Beaver effigy measuring 3 inches tall, 5½ inches wide, and 8 inches from nose to tail. Found in Mississippi County, Missouri, by Bill Teeters (deceased). Some have suggested this piece depicts a dog with a bone; however, the flat tail indicates it is a beaver holding a stick. From the collection of Ron Smith. Photograph by Art Gerber.
