On the Cover: This watercolor by David Paul Cook shows Mound “C” at Toltec Mounds Archaeological State Park. Located at the center of the site, it is the only mound used for burial purposes at this large ceremonial center of the Plum Bayou Culture (650–1050 A.D.). The site includes over 100 acres, two plazas, and sixteen mounds.
